Most hydration drinks have a strong flavor to cover the salty taste of electrolytes. With Active Hydration, we’ve taken a different approach by carefully balancing acids and bases and Vitamin C to create a neutral-tasting base. This allows Active Hydration’s fruit flavors to shine through cleanly without being overpowering, in keeping with the light flavors you’ve come to expect from Tailwind.
Active Hydration takes advantage of active transport mechanisms found in the small intestine to maximize hydration. Active transport mechanisms act like pumps to move sugars (glucose or fructose), sodium, and water across the intestinal wall into the bloodstream. Active Hydration contains the ingredients needed to activate these transport mechanisms. Hydration drinks lacking sugar can’t take advantage of these active transport mechanisms.
Active Hydration includes grass-fed bovine collagen peptides. Studies of collagen supplementation combined with exercise show promising results improving joint functionality.
